Let's delve into some of the ways your IPSE membership can help to support your mental health and wellbeing. This subject has become increasingly important in the spotlight in recent years, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic, and we continue to highlight the issues affecting our members and provide resources designed specifically for the self-employed.
We regularly publish blogs, advice pieces and information on mental wellbeing and have now collated these in our dedicated mental health advice pages, which we are continuing to add to. We also host regular webinars and events on the subject, and wellbeing was one of the three key themes of this many of our previous National Freelancers Day. Plus, events like these provide an opportunity for networking sessions where you can connect with fellow self-employed people. If you attended and want to watch any of the sessions again, the recordings are still available.
The advice and information we publish is all informed by our cutting-edge research into the self-employed landscape and the mental health of freelancers, so our recommendations are always backed with data and first-hand accounts. You can read our research on freelancer’s mental health, the mental health impacts of the pandemic on the self-employed, taking time off as a freelancer and many other subjects in our research hub.
All of this information aside, perhaps the most important aspect of your IPSE membership in contributing to your mental wellbeing is the vibrant community that it gives you access to, through our in-person and online networking events, the community forum and our social media groups – so there’s always someone to talk to who understands whatever you’re going through or has been there themselves.
As a member you can also take advantage of the offers and benefits available on BHSF via your IPSE Rewards account. This includes health and wellbeing services such as an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to our members providing access to a 24/7 helpline for advice, information and even counselling.
If you have any questions about how your membership can help support your mental health, or any other benefits of your IPSE Membership please as always let us know by email on [email protected] or feel free to give us a call on 0208 897 9970. We're here to help!
