Why a Policy and Research Committee?

IPSE’s Policy and Research Committee was set up to enable members to directly feed in to our policy work and help us design our research projects.

The committee has been instrumental in framing IPSE’s Budget Submission and in developing policy positions on topics ranging from IR35 and employment status reform to Making Tax Digital and umbrella company market regulation.

The committee has also discussed a wide range of topics from access to financial products which has led to work we are doing with CMME on mortgages, the portrayal of the self-employed in the media, late payment, indemnity clauses and the best way to push forward with our IR35 campaigning.

The PRC remains an integral link between IPSE’s membership and the work of the team to deliver research-backed policy recommendations that benefit UK freelancers.
