IPSE, The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed, is the UK’s only not-for-profit association dedicated to the self-employed. Originally formed in 1999 as PCG, a protest organisation against the IR35 tax legislation, it has evolved into much more than that. It now serves as a genuine support system for the self-employed, offering resources, protection, a community, and a voice.
Our mission
As a dynamic and diverse not-for-profit membership, we celebrate the self-employed, providing the essential support and recognition they deserve.
A future where self-employment is recognised as a cornerstone of the economy; where fair treatment and essential support are accessible to all.

The global employment landscape is changing fast, with an increasing amount of people leaving their 9 to 5 jobs behind and choosing to become their own boss. Becoming an IPSE partner is an opportunity to support the UK's smallest businesses while shaping the discussion around how to best nurture the flexible economy.
