The self-employed are stronger together

Hero image Benefit Campaigning

One community, one voice.

If you work for yourself – whether you call yourself a freelancer, contractor, self-employed, sole trader or side hustler – IPSE exists to fight your corner.

As the UK’s only not-for-profit trade association dedicated exclusively to the self-employed, IPSE brings self-employed individuals from a wide range of industries together to speak with one united voice.

Campaigning in the heart of Westminster and beyond, IPSE protects the self-employed from harmful legislation and works across the political spectrum to secure a fairer and more prosperous environment for the future of self-employment.

Tell me more...

We build relationships with industry partners to ensure self-employed voices are heard with key players outside of government, pushing for higher standards and better treatment of self-employed suppliers.

And we are one of the UK’s leading sources of research into self-employment, landing headlines and shaping policy by offering some of the most authoritative and up-to-date insight into today’s self-employed landscape.

Our vision for the future of self-employment is one where you get paid on time; where you get a fair deal on tax and finance; and where your status and rights as a self-employed individual are respected and protected.

Help us make it happen by becoming a member – we may work alone, but our voices are stronger together.

IPSE's Policy and Research Committee

IPSE’s Policy and Research Committee (PRC) was set up to enable members to feed in directly to our policy work and help us design our research projects. The PRC remains an integral link between IPSE’s membership and the work of the team to deliver research-backed policy recommendations that benefit UK freelancers.
